Darling Harbour is a lively area in Sydney’s city centre that is suitable for people of all ages.
Darling Harbour is a must-visit spot while you’re in Sydney. There is always something to do from watching the fireworks every Saturday night to meeting all kinds of wildlife and even seeing wax figures.
1. Discover the sea creatures at Sea Life Aquarium
Sea Life Aquarium has a great variety of underwater species to see. Walk through the underwater tunnels and have large sharks and stingrays swimming around you.
Go to the chilly area and see the gentoo and king penguins. You can see them waddling around or you can get even closer to them and do the Penguin Boat Ride experience. You will also have the chance to see tropical fish, turtles, jellyfish, and many more.
2. Visit Australia’s only Madame Tussauds
Madame Tussauds is a wax museum with some of your favourite characters and celebrities. See some of Aussie’s favourites including Steve Irwin, the Hemsworth brothers, and Olivia Newton-John.
There are also Marvel and DC comic book characters, famous sports stars, and other celebrities including Marilyn Monroe, Harry Styles, and Mel Gibson.
3. Eat by the harbour
Darling Harbour offers some of the best restaurants and pubs to eat at or to enjoy a drink. Some restaurant recommendations to eat at are Casa Ristorante Italiano and Nick’s Seafood. If you’re looking for some good pub food or somewhere to grab a drink, check out the Sporting Globe or Cargo Bar.
4. See all kinds of animals at Wild Life Zoo
Come meet your favourite Australian wildlife including kangaroos, Tassie devils, crocodiles, and much more! You can get a photo of you with a koala, discover the deadly spiders, and view the tropical birds.
5. Check out the beautiful Chinese Garden of Friendship
The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a beautiful garden that symbolises friendship between Sydney and Guangzhou. Step into the garden and experience a peaceful atmosphere that has elements of plants, stone, water, and architecture.
