How to Get to Bondi Beach

Firstly, you’ll need to get to Bondi Beach, which is really easy if you’re travelling from the centre of Sydney. Simply hop on the train to Bondi Junction and, from there you can catch the bus the 3km to the beach.

  • Go Surfing

    Surfing is the main sport of Bondi Beach, and you’ll see everyone from beginners to absolute pros hitting the waves and trying their luck on aboard. The southern end of the beach is dedicated entirely to the sport, with plenty of surf schools you can hone your skills at and surf hire shops that let you kick out on your own. If you’d prefer staying on dry land, merely watching from the sidelines can be an activity in itself. Giving you awe-inspiring views of the experts gliding across the mountain waves.

  • Take a Dip

    If you’d rather explore the water in a more relaxed way, try swimming instead. Between the two flags, you can take a dip in the cooling water and take a refreshing swim in the heat of the day.     The coast around Bondi Beach is spectacular, with incredible vantage points at nearby Tamarama, Bronte, and Coogee.     What was originally a beach bathhouse has now become one of the most popular attractions on the beach. Now a cultural community centre, it plays host to a theatre, a gallery, numerous shops, a restaurant, and several function rooms that hold events throughout the year.

  • Bondi Icebergs Baths

    Bondi Icebergs Pool

    Though the sea at Bondi is ideal for swimming, you can also hit the water in the Bondi Iceberg Baths. Skipping out on the strong currents and crashing waves for a steadier water experience. Located to the south of the beach, you can swim lengths in this well-maintained pool or grab some food from the on-site Crabbe Hole to refuel for the day. Access to the pool is free for any visitors, so snag yourself a lounge chair and set up for a perfect day in the sparkling Sydney sun.

    After spending the day soaking up the sun and sea, refuel at one of the area’s ocean view restaurants. Lining the shore, the restaurants are equipped with large glass windows and a laidback atmosphere. Depending on what experience you are after will determine the style of the restaurant.
