How long will it take? Getting to Canberra from Sydney
The quickest route is the inland route. The Southern Highlands offers some gorgeous scenery. It bypasses a string of cute little countryside towns that are worth the stop-off if you find yourself needing a break and a snack! Check out Marulan, Goulburn, and Bungedore – a charming little town full of history.
Canberra is about a 3.5-hour drive, by car or bus. Those taking the train can expect about a 4.5-hour journey.
If you have a little bit more time to travel, you could also drive through the coastal route. The coastal route is equally as pretty, but it can take about 4.5 hours.
