If you look at the map of Sydney, it’s easy to see why there are so many great walks around. With a curvy coastline and serene beaches that meander around the city’s Eastern edge, there are beach views everywhere.

A family-friendly walk with plenty of opportunities for a swim. Suitable for large groups, and the perfect route for a Sunday stroll.

2. A historical walk: The Rocks 

A city walk for history and culture.

If you fancy something a bit different to Sydney’s beaches, then check out the Rocks! The Rocks walk is right in the middle of Sydney’s hustle and bustle near Circular Quay – and you’ll get some great views of the Sydney Opera House.

Walking around The Rocks takes you back in time! If you opt for a walking tour, you’ll get a history lesson included. For a journey back through the city’s past, check out these old, colonial buildings and cobblestone streets.

3. Bondi to Coogee

A beachy walk perfect for exploring Sydney’s most iconic beaches.

In the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, you’ll find plenty of amazing walks that trail along the cabbage-shaped coastlines.

One of the most iconic walks in the area is the Bondi to Coogee Walk! Why not start with a swim in Bondi? This walk starts at Bondi Beach and ends at Coogee Beach. If you go in June or July, you might even spot some whales! You’ll be able to explore Sydney’s very famous Bondi Beach, and watch the surfers.

Bondi to Coogee is one of the most famous walks in Sydney – and for good reason! If you want to make a day of your walk, check out some of the gorgeous beaches dotted along the route for a quick, refreshing dip.

4. Cape Bailey Walk

This rocky walk showcases the best of Sydney’s rocky coastline and jagged cliffs.

If you’re eager to see a different side of Sydney’s nature, then check out the Cape Bailey Walk. The walking trail follows the cliff edge, starting at Cape Solander. You’ll eventually get to Cape Bailey Lighthouse, where you’ll be able to see some incredible views of the Pacific Coast.

5. Heritage Walk in Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park

A fascinating walk that allows hikers to learn about Aboriginal Heritage. The traditional custodians of this area are the Darug or Darramuragal people.

If you’re after a walk that takes you through Aboriginal heritage, then be sure to check out the Ku Ring Gai Chase National Park walk.

Look out for the engravings dotted around the rocks here, and make sure you get a look at the shelter.

This is quite a long walk with steep inclines, across 4.4 km, so be prepared and map your route beforehand! Bring plenty of water.
